Panajachel, San Pedro or San Marcos?

Panajachel is the gateway town — most services, lakefront restaurants, and the main boat dock for reaching every other village. San Pedro La Laguna is the backpacker hub: nightlife, Spanish schools, and budget accommodation. San Marcos La Laguna is the quiet one — yoga, meditation retreats, and swimming spots. Can’t decide? Public boats connect all the villages every 20–30 minutes for Q10–25, so start anywhere and explore from there.
